Meals On Wheels Announces Recipients of 2012 Jack and Eleanor Borden Memorial Kosher Meal Fund Grant
Alexandria, VA., February 13, 2012 Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2012 Jack and Eleanor Borden Memorial Kosher Meal Fund Grant. Five programs will each receive $1,000 to begin or expand a home-delivered or congregate kosher meal program. This year, MOWAA has increased the number of grant recipients as well as doubled the grant award. MOWAA President and CEO Enid Borden established the grant in honor of her parents. "What is so important about our Meals On Wheels programs is that they allow seniors to maintain their independence," Borden explained. "A significant part of that is being able to uphold traditions. I'm proud that MOWAA is awarding these funds in my parents' name."
2012 Jack and Eleanor Borden Memorial Kosher Meal Fund Grant recipients:
Jewish Community Council of Canarsie in Brooklyn, NY, plans to provide nearly 300 additional kosher meals for its program.
