History:

Barilla launched a nationwide campaign called “Share The Table” in an attempt to enhance family dinner time and generate funds for MOWAA. Barilla’s goal was to educate consumers about the benefits of having more meaningful meals with friends and loved ones, as well as to expose the distractions that have eroded meal sharing over time. At the end of the campaign, Barilla made a generous contribution of $150,000 to support MOWAA.

Barilla has renewed its commitment to MOWAA by continuing to promote its “Share The Table” campaign until September 2011.

Barilla will donate $1 to MOWAA, up to $150,000, for every person who “makes the promise” to share the table and support Barilla’s campaign for more meaningful meals. Barilla has also offered everyone who supports their cause the opportunity to download Sharing the Table with Mario Batali, a collection of twelve pasta recipes created exclusively for Barilla.

Impact:

With Barilla’s continued support of MOWAA through their “Share The Table” campaign, Barilla will further strengthen MOWAA’s efforts to eradicate senior hunger. Their 2010 donation will be given to the “National Response to Senior Hunger,” a MOWAA initiative that works through public and private partnerships to help support seniors in need. Thanks to partners like Barilla, MOWAA can continue taking steps towards our accomplishing our goal of ending senior hunger by 2020.
