Training Course: Emergency Preparedness for Meals On Wheels Program Professionals

Target Audience: Meal On Wheels and other Senior Nutrition Program Directors and Managers.
Course Description: The Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA), under a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), developed a training course for Meals On Wheels Program Professionals. The training is designed to instruct Meals On Wheels and other Senior Nutrition Program directors and managers in the use of the MOWAA Emergency Preparedness (EP) Standards and Implementation Guidelines, including the process for preparing an emergency plan that meets the MOWAA EP Standards.
After completing this course you will be able to:
- Identify how to respond to and recover from any emergency to ensure that essential programs services can continue and that critical client needs can be met during and after emergency events;
- Implement what you have learned into your program’s emergency planning process and update your Emergency Preparedness Plan.
