There is hunger in America not because of a lack of food, but because of a lack of leadership.
The task is large.
The mission is vital.
The goals are significant.
The need is enormous.
A central part of our mission at the Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA) is to support the important work you do as senior nutrition providers. We are obliged and fully committed to helping you, our Members and Affiliates, grow, develop and attain recognition as professionals and prepare you to be leaders in the senior nutrition field now and tomorrow.
The National Center for Nutrition Leadership
(the Center)
The Center will offer you the opportunity to participate in a Certificate Program , expressly designed for MOWAA Members and Affiliates, leading to a Certificate in areas of study that correspond to the five MOWAA Member Sections:
- Leadership
- Nutrition
- Development
- Volunteer Management
- Communications
Starting in the fall of 2008, the Center will regularly offer live courses in Alexandria, VA, in connection with courses offered at Annual MOWAA Conferences, and in the future, plans to augment these with distance learning courses.
